Wave Recorder is a simple sound recorder. See Wave Recording for the features list and usage hints.
Wave Recorder is invoked by selecting "File->Record Wave" menu item or by pressing
the Record Wave button on the main window toolbar.
Prepare button prepares the disk file for immediate recording. If you do not use temporary files for recording (see Setting Options), you will be asked for the filename. Use this button if you do not want any delays after pressing Record button.
Record button starts recording. If you do not use temporary files for recording (see Setting Options), you will be asked for the filename.
Pause pauses recording process until you press Record again to resume. After resuming, you continue recording the sound from the current position.
Stop stops recording.
Windows Mixer calls Windows Mixer for adjusting the recording level.
Samples Per Sec combo box selects the sampling frequency of the recorded file.
Bit per Sample - you can set up the amount of bits per sample using this radio buttons.
Channels - select a mono or stereo file you want to record. However, 7Canaries cannot extract spatial data from the sound yet.
Meter bars - lets you see sound level while recording to adjust recording level.
Meter checkbox turns on or off meter bars. Usually no other application can record sound when it is checked.
Help button brings up this page of help file.
Done button leads to closing Wave Recorder and loading the recorded wave into Wave Window.
Cancel does not load a recorded Wave into 7Canaries. If you record sound into a temporary file, it will be deleted.
Note: If you intend to use recorded file only in current version of 7Canaries, there is no need to record it with quality higher than 16 bit mono 22050Hz.
