Tune control is located in the upper right corner of TS-AudioToMIDI main window. By default, each sensor used for analyzing wave input is tuned to one of 87 standard note frequencies. This frequencies are fundamental for every note produced by an instrument tuned according to the tuning fork. However, sometimes, instruments playing the performance may be not tuned correctly or record may be damaged, also some instruments such as viola are not limited by this 87 frequencies and can produce sounds with smooth frequency change. In this case rigidly tuned sensors might fail to detect notes played. For that TS-AudioToMIDI provides fine tuning, both manual and automatic. Tuning allows changing slightly (on one half of semi-tone higher or lower) the resonance frequencies of all sensors. Manual tuning is assigned for real-time recognition. This mode allows to compensate the difference between tuning fork and, say, A on out of tune guitar by moving "Tune" slider.
It is not always convenient to use manual tuning when frequencies "flow" during performance. For this case automatic tuning exists. To turn it on, check "Auto Tune" control near "Tune" slider. While auto tuning, slider automatically moves to new position, showing the detuning level.
