Threshold slider is placed at the right of Spectrum window. It controls lowest sound level to analyze. All sounds lower than this level, both noise and notes will be ignored. You need to experimentally match Threshold level so that only required notes would pass it. In complex with Sharpness, controlling the shape of note pitch, Threshold control allows, if required, passing not only the loudest voice while all unwanted noise is filtered out regardless of its volume.
Noise Gate control sets up norm value for spectrum. This tool is useful when sound to analyze is noisy, and you need to filter out all occasional notes this noise produces.
